Nowadays, programming and robotics are no longer the exclusive skills of geeks or computer geniuses. These skills have become an important component of basic education in many places. Therefore， programmable robot are widely used in the education.

In Nova Scotia, coding is already part of the public-school curriculum up to Grade 6. The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development will provide $1 million to help 8,700 students in Nova Scotia prepare for the future job market with skills in coding, robotics, and information technology. This $1 million is under a program, CanCODE and will be distributed among 13 First Nation communities in Nova Scotia. Including students from kindergarten to Grade 12 in First Nations’ and similar public schools.

With the development of robot technology, programmable robot are playing more and more important roles in everyday life. As a result, in this newest age of automation, also need programmers to program and train robots.

Joe Jones, founder of Harvest Automation once said, “The hard part of robot programming isn’t writing the basic code that makes the robot work, rather, it is observing what the programmable robot actually does when it executes that code, figuring out why it doesn’t behave the way you expected, and then changing things to make it work better—or maybe at all.”

How can you get to be a robot programmer? A lot of books teach programming but the most important thing is to practice. Like Jones said, mastering the programming that connects robots and the real world requires hands-on experience.
